EQL launches Fund Intelligence fund managers' monthly letters become structured, citable data
Nordic fund houses' monthly letters are converted from PDF into structured, source-cited data — what managers bought and sold, and why — and delivered to savings platforms, banks and AI agents through API, SSE and MCP.
EQL Global AB, the compliance-first financial data platform for European capital markets, today launched Fund Intelligence, a new Nordic data segment that turns fund houses' monthly letters into structured, searchable and citable data.
A monthly letter is the manager's own account of a fund's performance, holdings, changes and market view — but it is published as a PDF and distributed by email, outside the systems where data is actually used. Fund Intelligence reads the letters and structures each one into seven sections: summary, performance, attribution, positioning, activity, manager stance, and questions and answers. Insights are stored in Swedish and English, and every data point carries a citation to the letter it came from.
The data also runs the other way: for any listed company, a platform can see which funds hold, bought, sold, added to or trimmed the position — and what the managers themselves wrote about why. Managers' reasoning can then be surfaced where investors already are: on the stock page, the fund page and in the news feed.
At launch the dataset covers more than thousands of monthly letters from 40 Swedish fund houses, back to 2009. As the map for the Nordic roll-out, EQL has catalogued 239 fund managers across Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland.
“Fund houses put real work into their monthly letters, and then the letters disappear into inboxes and PDF archives,” said Sahng Ibrahim, CEO and Co-founder of EQL Global.
“Fund Intelligence turns the manager's own words into a data source — citable, traceable to the letter, and available where savers and analysts actually are: on the platforms and in the AI tools"
